Johnson’s Post Saturday Market: Your Guide to 15 August

A great Saturday morning has very little to do with crossing items off a shopping list.

Instead, it’s found in the sensory details: the aroma of fresh bakes drifting from a farm stall, the warm murmur of familiar voices catching up over coffee, and the quiet delight of discovering a homemade treasure you didn't know you needed.

That is the morning waiting for you at Johnson's Post this Saturday, 15th of August.

A cherished fixture on the Garden Route since 1897, our weekly market is where over a century of history feels most alive. From 9:00 AM, locals and visitors alike gather to explore tables overflowing with small-batch preserves, cold-pressed oils, local honey, oven-fresh bread, and seasonal farm produce-all crafted by the very hands you’ll meet on the day.

If you want a sneak peek of the vibrant atmosphere, take a look at our past market recap to see what’s in store. Then, join us this weekend to experience the tradition firsthand.

When and Where to Find the Market

The market runs on Saturday, 15 August, starting from 9:00 AM. Arrive on the earlier side if you can. Stalls fill up with regulars quickly, and the popular jams, bakes and biltong tend to disappear well before midday.

Johnson's Post is easy to find once you know the route. Click to get directions on Google Maps here and plan to enter via Vleesbaai Road or Drift Road off the N2, or via Gouritz, the Gouritz bridge access is open once again after some month's of repair work done after the floods.
