Confronting the passage of time

Wednesday 1st October 2025 saw the first day of a new month and the beginning of a new chapter in an old story. As we were blown into the shop this afternoon we were confronted with the same familiar Johnson’s Post sensations – the smells, the light. 4 paint tins in hand and instructions from Dana embedded in the phone at the ready and we were set to mark some paint samples on the walls, shelves and counters. But how to begin? Where to begin? Slowly. Gingerly, you peel back the layers of time and tale and begin to expose the old raw skin of the place where the true stories are held like wrinkles on a kind old ladies face.

We pasted our colours on the requisite locations and swapped a few out – I can see the theme in the colours and can already feel the atmosphere of the shop when a new customer walks in and is confronted with the curated blend of legendary old and the feeling of the absolute necessity to be there for our wares and smiles and country charm.

This is day 1 of a 31 day month and it has been a phenomenal day. It is also the first post of content that I have written to share with those who wish to follow the Johnson’s Post story.
