The December Trial
Wanneer maak julle oop? Donerdag 18de Desember 2025. When are you opening? Are you ready yet? You know, we drove passed Johnson's Post this morning and we stopped there for a coffee but you guys weren't open yet... So, when are you guys opening? What kind of store is it going to be? I promised a coffee machine, and a top-class barista. I have both. We will make an exceptional cup of coffee for you. Maybe offer you a lemon meringue or New York cheesecake to accompany the coffee? A croisant, perhaps? Is that all? No, we are not done.
The Sunday Paper
The schools are closed for the December and we're about to get busy down here in sleepy old Vogelvlei. The subtle signage has gone up next to the road and the last markie seems like a distant memory. And the tank on the side of the shop wasn't going to hold water again. Minus a
The clean up
On 27th September 2025 Die Johnson's Pos Markie went on sabbatical in preparation for the minor facelift. How long was this going to take? We wanted to be ready for the festive season, and set the aim for 15th December. The smell of braaivleis would be on the air by the 16th, and the sunburnt bodies visible by the weekend. The container (for storage of the shop contents) arrived on 30th September, and we began unpacking the shop on 1 October. Dana Arnoldi
